There are two Youtube videos of the late Tata Guines giving a clinic on Conga technique. I believe it was taped in France. I did not recognize the make of the drums. Does anyone know what he is playing in the video?

Watch his hands, listen to what he plays and says, and go practice. Forget about what make of drums he has. He could make any drum sound good.

I'll take that good advice. I was just curious.

It Looks to be Sonoc crown on these Congas . Aledgedly the Guanex I bought recently was formely owned by Tata . he changed the Guanex crown for a Sonoc which added to the confusion of identifying my drum .
These videos show what mastery Tata had .

Thanks for the information. I was knocked over about 45 years ago, when I first heard his solos on Cachao's "Cuban Jam Session" recordings when I was a teen. Now, it is a privilege to see those hands on video on YouTube. Too bad there are not more.
