Hello

I have lurked long enough and have finally joined this community. Thanks to all who have posted valuable information that I have used. For example, thanks to Isaac who set me up with some awesome muleskins for my LPs. Garvin influenced me to get some Drumskull congas. I also found out about Matt Smith bongos here and have some on order. Hopefully by the summer of 2010 they will be ready. (Take your time Matt! I know you do great work and something special is in the works!)

I like all types of music and I am humbled by those masters who have brought the art of congas and bongas so far. Many thanks!

First of all let me give you a warm welcome to this wonderful forum which, as you have just described, contains some wonderful and valuable information there is definitely much talent to be appreciated here. Wow what a gorgeous set of Skull drums, congratulations. I would like to ask, are you fully satisfied with them as far as sound, quality and workmanship? They look like tanks, how heavy are they? The skins look "Sick"!, aka, awesome.
By the way, is that a foot operated pandero? what make is it?

Hello KING CONGA, I have enjoyed your posts (e.g. your link to some cool conga t-shirts!)

I really like my DrumSkull congas. I have two DrumSkull djembes and one DrumSkull bugarabu that are also awesome but they hardly ever get used because I really like playing their congas. Pity. DrumSkull quality and workmanship are top notch too. Plus, they offer blue chip customer service. The DrumSkull congas are quite heavy.

The "foot operated pandero" is called a Muzar and is from Egypt. It adds a nice texture to the sound even though the jingles are not the best quality (compared to my Cooperman jingles). Sometimes I swap out the muzar for a small drum from Kuwait.
