I write this with respect to everyone in the forum. This unhealthy attitude on the forum needs to stop! This is about a brotherhood in the percussion world. We will not always agree that much we know. But then thats why we are all individuals right? some like mule some like cowhide fine one thing we know is they both sound good. It's ok to have different opinions lets start respecting each other. Lets all get back to discussing technique, rhythms, videos, drums etc. Please do not respond to this thread with so and so this and that, thats not what this thread is about. This thread is about briniging this online community back together. This forum serves a purpose and it's so we can all share info and ideas etc. There will still be times when we will disagree but we need to keep things in check! We all need to stop the BS ok guys we are here because we all have a love for the drum so lets get back to business gang.

Yeah, I totally miss Dr. Z's 'articulations'.... Seriously though, this forum is so much more mature generally speaking than others. I feel like I can really count on the information and resources offered by the members here more than anywhere else online. We have so much knowledge and talent to tap here. I find it easy to disregard the drama. I simply skip all that. I have nothing bad to say about anyone here. I love this place, even though I am only an infrequent poster.

PEACE and DRUMS!!!!

I just wanted to add something that bothers me and that is when someone writes you a private email for information, or advice they are usually very kind and polite. I have had these kind of emails many times. What bothers me is when I go out of my way to write a detailed reply with lot's of info that I believe will really help the person writing to me that they do not even bother to send me a simple " Thank You" back to me. I will keep on helping anyone that asks me for advice or info because the next person just might say "Thank You" . But to those that do not, shame on you because life as you know it seems to revolve around you and no one else. That to me is a miserable existence and I am so glad I am not like that.

Will.

Obviously, you deserve to be thanked if you provide help, and on behalf of everyone who has received or will receive help from you, thank you. However, good advice would be to give without expecting anything (including gratitude) in return, just for the sake of giving. If you can't do that, you're going to be let down. A lot.

Good point Light Seeker, That is exactly how I should view it and will from now on. Thanks for that good advice.

VinnieL,

Very well-stated words of wisdom!

Will,

Since I know you to be an avid student of Christian scripture (but, however we seem to be constrained from any form of religious discussion in this forum--even if it may have very practical and peaceful, non-violent application in the secular world), I can only very quickly refer you to the passages contained in Matthew 5:38 - 6:4, among others.

VinnieL's words are contained in these scriptural passages.

Best,

Thank you Manny. I appreciate it very much. I have read those verses and it is all true.
