That is a great clip, the first video I have seen with the late Ivan Alfonso, son of Jesus (ibae). Ivan was one of the great Matancero drummers, and the most talented drum teacher I have known. Ibae, RIP mis hermanos.

Nice clip of the late Manny Oquendo playing a couple of bongo solos. He so bad when he accidentally knocked down his bell it hit the ground AND BOUNCED in clave!

Here is clip of my new project, 9 piece band SOMOS FAMILIA. On the night we were short by the band owner who does backing vocals, so we only had the one bv upfront.
This is our 2nd gig with this line up. (About 1 week ago)
Excuse poor quality vid, was shot by simple digital camera on a tripod on corner of stage, its the lead vocalists footage, Ive uploaded a copy of it onto YT.
My bro Tonio (seen in my other vids) on drums/timbal, myself on congas.
The track is called 'Somos Familia' by Swedish based timba band 'Calle Real', we give it our own feel.

I normally fill in on Tumbadoras for this project, for this gig Im on Guiro, Chekere and BVs (I dont do BVs for this track though) regular conguero is my bro Tonio (in the clip) and on Timbal is my bro Dom (both of which can be seen jamming in my previous clips post) on Bongo is Julio (former student of mine)
Line up is 3 trombones, Bass, Piano, Tres/Violin, 2 bv's, 1-2 lead vox, congas, timbal/drums, bongo/cencerro, guiro/chekere.

Thank you for that superb link. The genius of all is further emphasized by Gadd who doesn't "play" the drums. He strokes them with almost erotic gentility and authority, a technique which blends their groove seamlessly within the triumverate. THIS is a Groovemaster of the First Order.

Hey Jorge, this vid was shot in El Vedado, Habana, not Matanzas. The place is called 'El Palenque' open rumba from about 11am-5pm, sometimes later, Held every Saturday. Usually 2 or 3 groups will perform. I miss it so much now!

I got to throw down some quinto with the local heavies a few times.
