Johnny, I'd much rather have those cajons than the Fat conga ones I have now. I think it's better when they are taller like that, so they can rest on ground while you play, rather than trying to hold them up between the knees.

Isaiah, You're ripping on that solo! Nice job with quickness and slap-tone dialogue. And your arms are really nice and relaxed. Makes me humble about showing mine.

I just uploaded some quick things onto YouTube. One is a practice of the triplets in four pairs and switching handing that Mike Spiro taught, and the other one is shaker with songs to Ochosi.

Allow small French that I am to propose you his video : Practice Routine .

It's a small video concerning the daily practice. Before every time, I make 15 minutes of free practice that one can consider as a solo but with a working optics. The objective is to develop the technique inside a solo...

Great set of interviews, there is also one of Orestes Vilato, thanks RumBa808.
Haven't heard El Pito in years! Check out the sound of Joe Cuba's slaps, that clean, dry, rich, hollow sound. Not too many conga players use that sound anymore. I love that sound, it is my favorite sound of the instrument. With slaps like that and solid timing, no hay mas na', you don't need a lot of fancy rolls and riffs to get the dancers to come out of the woodwork. Like RumBa808 said, "less is more".

I don't think congamyk was being unreasonable. this is a video thread, so post videos, and comments on the videos. The interview was nice, but it has a separate place in the forum I'm sure. Likewise with the cajon advertisement placed a couple of pages back - not needed in this thread.

perhaps the moderators can set up a separate thread for interviews.

Couple more videos:
Sato - unique to see a japanese percussionist -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i99OhhLdzdg

Pedro martinez- superb, smokin video. i love the hands, and how every single note is so clear - but there is a lag in the video
