Well, I'm rearranging our practice room to make room for my congas to set next to my drum kit. Practice this weekend will be the first time out with them. We play all original roots rock, so will probably just play mostly tumbao. Will let you know how it goes. :blues:

Are you going to play the Congas and the Drum-Set at the same time?

The interaction in Rock-Music is good also as long as the Conga player knows how to blend in,with the drummer.

by would be nice
It would be awesome if I had an extra set of hands to do both. I just did some recording where I laid down my set, then came back with the conga tracks later. I think it came out well, and it just never sounds the same live when i can only play set or congas. Time to hire another drummer.

Tracks one and three have the congas. I threw some shaker and cabasa into track one also.

Let me know what you think. I'm lacking in good, quality honest feedabck.

Great tunes from Doijee. Hope my rock conga playing can get to that level some day.

love your sound diojee!

First track was dead-on. Kit and congas on third track seemed a bit percussively overwhelming, as if they were trying to make a statement on their own. A simpler--perhaps more understated arrangement tween the two might give the track more balance.

I didn't dig this at all. It's basically a djembe-sounding "pop" jam.

Here's a friend of mine playing with his blues band.
He plays congas on "Snake Doctor". Check it out.
