Max Roach was undoubtably one of the most important drummers of all time.. I can't beleive the lack of press coverage on this.. :(

Many, many respects to a true legend.

There's a lot of media coverage about Max Roach in the last two days,
even the BBC has a nice tribute to him.

I had the honor of helping my older brother who was
Max's student/volunteer roadie for the day setting up his drumset at a PAS convention many years ago. Max insisted on paying us $200 even though
we volunteered to do it. He was a really classy gentleman and
a kind human being.

I have some of the recordings of Mr. Roach with Clifford Brown. Truly remarkable.

There's plenty of respect for Max Roach in America.

He was a great drummer and band leader.
