Greetings to all. Thought I might ask if anyone has any info on Pablo Mozo, who was specifically sought by Mongo Santamaria for the album Yambu, since re-issued as part of Afro Roots. The liner notes say Mongo wanted him for his cowbell work. He also lays a groove down on the triangle on Congobel. To think I used to dread playing triangle in concert band. :p

Anyway- does anybody know of other recordings or any more info?

Yes I do ...and I also played with him, and knew him in Los Angeles with the Miguel Cruz group SKINS....I have him on my radio show(cassette recording) from 1977 on KXLU and he is also on SKINS first release.....he was known for his work with "cascaras" and campana...I believe he passed in the 80's. He was a very nice man and very humble..."JC" Johnny Conga-"mongoite" :D

Hey! Thank you Johnny. I have Miguel Cruz y Skins, "Noche de Rumberos." Their tribute to Arsenio Rodriguez, "El Pan de Guajaibon," had been playing in my head. Now I know why! Do you have your radio show as an mp3? Any other albums by Skins?

Best, Jonathan
