Hey Bongosnotbombs, check "La Cuna".
I'm not sure about beebop, but it's very interesting and experimental, with Tito Puente, Charlie Palmieri, Steve Gadd...
All the best!

You realy wanna beebop, I guess
There one more; "Portraits in jazz and clave", feauturing Joe Lovano, Eddie Gomez... Real bebop!
But as for me, I don't like the way that guys play latin music :;):

BONGOSNOTBOMBS...Ray did not record "bebop" he was considered a "jazz conguero" and here is a list of Artists that he recorded with but they are pretty much straight ahead "jazz'....
Wes Montgomery
Lou Donaldson Quintet- "I wont cry anmore" album
Stanley Turrentine--"Never let me go" on Bluenote recs
Kenny Burrell
and the first "Jazz" recording Ray did was "Manteca' with The Red Garland Trio about 1954-54....
.Ray was the "first call" cat on Congas for the Bluenote label and recored a few hundred albums for The Bluenote label....."JC" Johnny Conga....

Thanks rumbero and JC,
yeah kind of looking for congas on straight jazz, I play bongos with a straight jazz group and want to start bringing in the congas, but all I have learnt so far is rumba kine stuff..
just wanted to hear some congas with the jazz, but you know I want to get a good cd too, not one I'm gonna have to take back you know...
........and I know nothing about Ray Barreto, so any good track to recommend by him is cool........

Hey, Bongosnotbombs, if you mean bongos and tumbas in swing, I'd recommend you to listen to Giovanny Hidalgo "Hands of rhythm", a duo with Michel Camilo, there are few tracks...
As for Ray Barretto, I'd love to have all the works of him!
Best wishes!
