WE call Tommy Lopez- in our drumming community in the Bronx when i was coming up was "One Drum Tommy" cause he could a LOT with just one drum...listen to him on my favorite albums "Mambo con Conga=Mozambique and "Molasses' some of his best work and classic conga solos...."JC" Johnny Conga...

Tommy, speaks more on one drum than most speak on three, his tone, and discipline is something to watch for any conguero, too bad he stopped playing, i think i read somewhere that he stopped and started working as a truck driver....i think it was Willie E, that said, "whenever I see a young conguero going a mile a minute on a drum, I whisper in his ear"...."Tommy Lopez"

Hey, Jorge!

Niiice vid!! And good to see that the man has still got the chops- no machine-gunning, just tasty, musical playing...I've been a fan of his ever since I heard his work with Palmieri, and how about the Machito/ Lalo album, Fireworks, que clase de afinque.. Gotta hand it to you, Jorge, you're a great resource for this forum, and practically find anything on the web..have u ever considered finding Bin Laden, heard there's a pretty good $$$ reward out for him
