I want to add some sort of bass drum to my conga set up, preferably to be played drumset style with a bass drum pedal. Is there any traditional drum that I could use for this purpose, maybe the LP Tambora? even though I wouldn't be playing it traditionally. Or should I go for a drumset bass with maybe a skin head? Has anyone used anything like this with their conga setup, or seen anything? Any ideas would be helpful.

i've seen a lot of timbale players with a kick drum-mostly for merengue stuff. I'd go with a nice little 18-20 inch drumset kick drum. tune it high and muffle it good for a nice warm round sound. would add a nice touch droppin' the bombo rhythm once in a while.
