Hi all, some of you may remember a while back I was involved in recording some percussion on the Pepsi Samba advertising campaign.

The ad has been screening in Australia for some time now and now the complete audio track has been released as a single named ASEREKO. (acereko - correct Spanish spelling)

The Television ad can be seen here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfAmTvHtkuw

[b]You can listen to the full 3 min, 30 sec version of the song which features me on percussion by going here:

http://www.evilimaging.com/pepsi.htm

You must then click on the link shown on that page to hear the MP3 or right click on the link on the page and save target as.

Our lead singer/rapper Carlos Mora wrote and recorded the lyrics/vocals and invited me to record congas on the track.
Composition was done by a producer named Eden from SongZu.
Production company, Luscious International, filmed the Samba ad in Colombia. Director Damien Toogood worked with producer Tim Berriman.
The Dancing Legs ad was created by Clemenger BBDO, Sydney by creative team, Rocky Ranallo, Danny Searle, Ant Hatton and Robbie Brammall with senior producer Roy De Giorgio.

Hope y'all enjoy it!

It can be ordered through: http://www.hmv.com.au/product/singles.asp?sku=-987430

This is what the single looks like:

Brother,

you need to right click and save target as on the first link ie
http://www2.luscious.com.au/luscious_movies/DT_Pepsi_Samba_30.mpg
(TV commercial)

and on the one to hear the full single you need to click on this link:
http://www.evilimaging.com/pepsi.htm

Once you are on that page, right click and save target as on the link shown on that page. ( http://evilimaging.com/pepsi.mp3 )

I just checked it out, all working fine. Give it another try.

:)

I agree brother, the part with Unión de reyes llóran porque Malanga murió.

Which is what wouldve happened should it have been a production of our own, however cause it was for Pepsi, they decide what mix they want and dont care much for what is being rapped about/being performed, especially cause its in another language, but all that matters to them is that it sounds good and is catchy. ???

But yes, you are right!

Great Abakua!

Splendid work, brother! I do agree they put you up more in the mix, but I know, percussion is not the main thing for producers...

Nevertheless, Tasteful and Groovy!

Cool, nice to have on the resume.. Too bad everyone is all about the fake drum down beat sound now-a-days..
It just makes what we do all the cooler though eh??

Music's absolute funk, though as usual, perc is always down-mixed practically out, by non-perc aware producers. The commercial however (Dancin' legs) is another computer-generated exercise that creeps me out!
