Posted: Tue Nov 08, 2005 5:38 pmWhy anybody would want to play Santanas music is beyond me...it's been done and there are more "santana tribute" bands than u can shake a stick at....C,mon be "original"...anybody can 'copy" sombody's music....and maybe even play it better than the originals did , but your just "copying" them....if ur gonna play his music, change it rearrange it come up with a new approach to the tunes that he's been playing for 30 years.....make it your own....but to be playing Black Magic woman ....eh......my 2 congas...."JC" Johnny Conga....
Posted: Tue Nov 08, 2005 5:56 pmI understand what you said,but I was called to help for a friend of mine which wanted to do it,I did point out those thinking,but he wanted to do it this way,(tribute),so I respect his wishes,(the other band where I play is a fusion/Reggae band with their own songs), but I have played with other bands which have cover songs from Salsa,Colombia,and Merengue music,there are still a lot of them around.I'm king of a fire/man,(if they need an emergency percussionists for any reasons),I take care of it, if I'm not busy for the engagement.Dr. Zaragemca

Love that song it has sentimental values to me . I used to play it all the time with a great freind of mines who passed away , may he rest in peace .
