Hi guys out there,
I am just curious to know what kind of percussion magazines you read. Also depending of the country you live in, of course... So, what do you like best in your magazines, which useful tips do U get there, etc.
I am half Dutch, half German and living in Germany.

My favourite magazines are STICKS and Drums and Percussion , both full of interviews and product information

Although my French is not too good (i remember those days back at school), READING is at least manageable for me.
Is Batteur Magazine also online?
By the way, STCIKS is online under http://www.sticks.de

After all, I just wanted to know the names of the mags worldwide. By the way, i guess congaplace is pretty multinational, isn´t it?!?!?

Here in the USA we have Modern Drummer Magazine,
Drum Magazine, and Sticks Magazine! All of them are more intended to the drumset player with very few articles for percussionists. On the other hand, we have Latin Percussionist Magazine. Very nice stuff! With articles from John Santos, Victor Rendón, Johnny Almendra, Louie Bauzo, and so on! The only drag is that it is published twice a year. Check it out at:

I just tried the Latin Percussionist website and it looks like it's down for the count. It's the first time I've heard of this magazine, I hope the site comes back online!

World Percussion and Rhythm email wprmagazine@aol.com, is an excellent independent magazine that is published in Chicago. It is published twice a year and has been around since 1996. It focuses on various types of hand percussion traditions. Costs around $15 for 4 issues or 2 years.

This is an impressive effort of love by Terry Reimer. Previous issues have included many greats and the current issue has Michael Spiro, Canela, Kalyan Pathak,Colin Douglas, Jesus Diaz, Roberto Vizcaino, Tribute to "Ray Romero", Munequitos de Matanzas, Scott Robinson, and more.

This is a local effort but again I highly recommend this magazine. It is not flashy but comes from the heart.

Peace
