This is an interesting Djembe and Dunun piece.We are playing the traditional Mali style version of the rhythm arrangement called Sunu. Interestingly enough, this piece really has an Afro Cuban (style) swing or feel to it. Geofrey Ohanna (on left) I am in the middle on djembe and Tim Dabrowski on Dunun's (aka "djun djun"). I got a chance to live and study in Mali and was surprised how some of the feels and flavors reminded me of Afro Cuban rhythms. I posted this particular piece because of the similarity to Afro Cuban drumming music.
