Another Meinl gizmo: Slaptop cajon

Fresh from the Frankfurt music fair.
This is something like a portable laptop cajon version of the musical furnishings I remember we had a while ago :

you might want to check and listen to the video on that Meinl site (see link above).

I have not seen nor played the slaptop myself yet, but found the video quite convincing,
it is surely a handy instrument and another way of making trap drummer unemployed
Or not..?

Hi Mike,
the sound on the snare-side is quite firm. All sounds aside differ not really much if you don´t support them with adequate techniques (flat hand, tips on the edge etc.).

Generally I am very amazed what companies try to get accepted as music instruments lately. There are already real furnitures which seem to be more qualified - have a look on number 5 in the clip list:
