What kind of bells are you using in your timbale setup, or what type of hand bells are you using? I'm looking for some ideas to get out of the usual "LP-centric" configuration; are there any independent shops making bells that anyone has tried?

JCR and Matthew Smith are 2 excellent options that cost the same as a mass produced bell.

There are interesting bells from Brazil like GOPE and many other international percussion companies as well.

Bells are like cymbals and no 2 will sound exactly the same. It is best to test the bells in person (if this is an option).
