WHAT IS THIS INSTRUMENT?

Postby KING CONGA » Sat Jul 18, 2009 9:27 pm

I need help identifying this instrument. I acquired these, what I refer to as rib shape slap sticks, together with two pairs of killer Claves from the 50's. they are aprox. 5" long. I have an Idea of how they are used but am not too sure maybe there is a you tube video some where.

This is an irish instrument called "the bones" they are both help in one hand and you flick your wrist to make them clap against each other. Really hard to play in my opinion.

Tradition is not the custody of ashes but the propagation of fire.
