Just thought I'd share this with you :

I recently received these beatiful instruments:

...and all I can say is that they sound and look better than all the maracas and güiros I own.
I have the LP rawhide Macho maracas, a pair of Pearl rawhide maracas, a Pearl gourd Cuban style güiro, another gourd Cuban style güiro I bought in NYC, and others. But, none of them are match to what these Colombian artisans are selling on eBay.

that is a good looking set up, indeed. theres a lot good clolombian artisans that make good quality instruments.
the clave beater stick looks like it would make a good cowbell beater.

Yes it looks like it would make a good cowbell beater, but it's not that hard. However, it works pretty good beating on that hembra :D
