ok guys i have an LP plastic super guiro but would like to purchase a Puerto Rican style guiro. Were can i find one? I would like more of the finer sound you get from the scraper and the finer grooves on the Puerto Rican style guiro. Any help is appreciated.

I have a great guiro from Lawton (shekeres, also..):

They are sold in Guitar Centers but I'd recommend getting it direct as there is "talk" thay the hand picked ones are better than the ones at GC. :;):

Alafia Abures!
I hope that you are all well and abundantly blessed!

I actually found and currently use an excellent replica of a puerto rican quiro (plena/bomba) with the scraper at the following site:

http://manopercussion.com/index.php?cPath=37

The guiro is made of durable resin something or rather and has a very good sound to it.

Many blessings!

Alafia Abure VinnieL!

I actually don't think it's in the US, I originally got my guiro via ebay and the store was in Puerto Rico aka Borinken! The construction of it makes it very indestructible I'm getting a lot of miles out of mine.

Suave!
