Congamyk,

Cool DVD, its on my list.
Samba Atabake, try www.Bridgesto.com for DVDs. It has many Brazilian instruments covered and are a little patchy but gives a good insight.

Making jingles louder-I usually need to make then quieter, but I guess you may need to change them out. I tend to use a clip on mic where needed, which makes it all louder.Sorry cant be too helpful on that one.

Does anyone know how I can make the jingles on my pandeiro louder?

Years ago there was a great article on conga drumming for samba music in Modern Drummer. I dont think I still have the magazine, but I definitely remember most of the rhythms. I'll write them out and post them here.

Hey Doctor! That's cool, now let me ask you this, have you ever heard of "Wasamba?"

Our teacher Agustine here in KC (www.myspace.com/kcrumba) teaches a pattern that lays over samba and Brazilian clave perfectly. He said he learned it in Cuba as the "Wasamba". Any ideas about this?
