32nd note smear

I am new to bongos and came across a 32nd note smear in a piece of music. What is a smear? How is it played? Any assistance that anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

smear means that the note is played ligato to whatever is around it, sometimes, it denominate crecendo.
