Paris made ASBA conga for sale. (60s' or 70's).
It has 7 short style lugs, a traditional rim and is 12" diameter
playing surface, the height is 31". It has an inner wooden + metal ring
alma, and a metal one on the outside. It has alternating
staves of Oak and darker Walnut (possibly Mahogany). We normally associate
striped congas with cheap Mexican ones, but this is
definitely in a different class. Price is $145 plus shipping.

This was the conga of choice by
the Malian,Senegalese, Camerounian and Congolese groups of the 60s and 70s.
Both Ringo and Phil Collins also played them on their recordings.
It has a long slender taper and a bright and unique sound - both African and Latin.
Nice range between highs and lows.
It would work well with Charanga, or where only one conga is required.
It also sounds great for Brazilian music, and can take different tunings.
In short it can be very versatile.

It has several new splits on both sides due to the harsher cold & dry climate where I live in Canada.
It needs a new home, for the person who knows how to
repair it. I'm having to go back to fiberglass for where
I'm living now.

I will also post a vintage Gon Bops Quinto soon.
