I'm hoping someone can give me a little assistance on determining the value of a set of 1998 Valje bongos & congas? 11.75" & 12.5" conga and tumba. The congas have a few nicks from the drums rubbing together. The bongos are in mint condition. No cracks. Cherrywood.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

These are very hard to find. At the low end, $500 and at the high $800. A full set is worth $1,800 to $2K. They are great drums and not many were made. The original skins are terrible. Outfitted with moderately thick steer, you will be satisfied. I am pretty sure they are cut and placed north American cherry (not steam bent staves), too expensive to duplicate. They are beautiful as they age, but are a at-home-drum; very heavy because of the thickness of the wood.
They came in 11", 11.5" and 12". They were quoted other than this before, but I know the sizes. Actually a quinto and conga would work fine as a set, but if you can get a tumba - better yet.

I have not seen any of the cherry bongo, so go for it.

addition. When I measure bearing edge to bearing edge I get the sizes listed above, but LP has this for replacement heads.

LP VALJE SERIES HEADS RAWHIDE PLASTIC
11" Quinto V265A •
113/4" Conga V265B •
121/2" Tumbadora V265C
