What was the circumstance in the dark picture about midway down, where the guy was playing an Iya next to you?
I like it when styles and different instruments taken from their original context are mixed.

Wow Marcelo, those guiros, I bet they sound as good as they look, they are "FAT", no pun intended, you have a great talent. Maybe one day you can offer to sell some to some of the members. Just out of curiosity, have you always lived in Australia? How is the general scene in Austalia in reguards to Latin Music? is there a lot of it, how about Latin Musical groups?

hey guys, thanks for the comments! I will update and add some more pics as I go along..

Windy, the dark pic with me on quinto and Carlos on Iya, was a band I used to play with, it was in a section of a track we done, where bass, synths, guitar would play an almost drum n bass like groove, whilst the drummer played a 6x8 groove felt in 4 but real up tempo, Carlos would play Iya parts with myself throwing in quinto riffs upfront (carlos was also the singer/rapper/mc) while another percussionist played Itotele & Okonkolo parts on congas. Man, that was a heavy tune!

Yo sup KK, yeh man always lived here, arrived when I was 2. There is a strong salsa/timba/folklorik scene here. Plenty of bands etc. I mean it aint NYC but theres stuff going on Tues nights, Thurs nights through to Sun nights. Keeps me busy enough. The guiros are awesome bro! The Guiro player from Los Van Van loved them! He used one of mine for a few tracks during their tour here.

I jumped off congas to let my bro Tonio (Jose) take a solo, (Jose plays timbal in my band) Dom jumped up onto timbal to fill in during this track, I shot it with my crappy mobile phone camera, sorry for bad image quality.
