Hi everyone.

I have an old bongo bell and new timbale bells that I brought from Cali's shop in the Bronx. The new ones are obivously fine, but the old bongo bell I have had for almost 20 years and it very rusty. I didnt know the best method to cleaning these bells, and perserving the new bells that have no rust. Any suggestions???

Deep in vinegar overnight the wash with a scrubbing sponge , then rubb some oil on it ..that will prevent the rust.

JESSE: Rust is always gonna be a problem with cowbells, especially a bongo bell. What I like to do is get a piece of light sandpaper and sand it down to remove the rust, depending on how much rust you have, that's the grit of sandpaper you'll need..
Hope this helps..

Thanks for your suggestions. I will probably try all on my different bells to see which is the best method.
