Macho size and sound

Does the slight difference in size between a 6 3/4 macho and a 7 1/4 inch macho drum have a significant impact on its sound? I've noticed in videos I've watched that the larger macho seems to have a more pronounced tone on the muted stroke, although this may just be the skin size.
