OK, looking for a new set, sold my jcr's and am in the process of selling my piernas. I've seen a lot of nice soild wood bongos coming out of PR. Anybody got a list of the makers and an idea of the prices? Some of these cats you need to provide your own hardware too? So maybe I buy a beater set of LP's or matadors and have PR artisan make me a set.
So who is making bongo in PR?

Yes, that is what I did. Bought a Matador Custom {$135} to use the hardware. Here is Jorge Miranda number 939-358-1251 if interested.

Nice work. I´m thinking about to do the same thing. Okay, i want to do it in Germany;)

I dont know the spare parts prices? Isn´t it cheaper to buy the hardware as spares?

There is also Charlie Vega of CVS Percussion who is making great stuff down in Puerto Rico. You can also find him on Facebook. This video doesn't highlight his bongos, but he does make a killer set. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iYCmzzscro

Does anyone know if Mr Miranda’s contact number is still active? I have a set of hardware that I would love to have him make shells for.
