Hello everyone,
I've got a chance to buy some bongos from El Piernas in Cali, Colombia and wanted to know if anyone has input or advice as to the purchase? I'm basically making a blind purchase through the eyes of my mother in law who doesn't really know what to look for. Thanks.

Bacalao, I got an old El Piernas Bongó which I bought from Omelenko, I tell you I will not trade or sell that Bongó, even if somebody offer me 3 mass produce top of the line any brand. I am waiting for my Colombian friend to go to Colombia next month so he can buy me one like own by Twist Bongo. If you got the chance to buy one ,go for . I do not think he has more than 3 models to choose, 1 with PuertoRican flag,1 with 2 metal bands & the tradional one. Talk to your suegra and let her know the models types.

Caballoballo,
Thank you for the reply. La suegra went to Hector Rochas (El Piernas) store this weekend and said she was very impressed. Everything there was beautiful she said. She mentioned that Hector went over the difference in the models of each drum with her. I plan to purchase a bongo y tumba and hopefully get them by the end of the month. Thanks again.

hi from twinsbongo
i have had about 3 el piernas bongos thru the years. i have never ever had any problem with them. i really want to tell you up front that you will not get a light bongo. you will be getting a real haeavy bongo 13lbs.but is a good instrument. everything that hector makes is good. you will enjoy it
