My new MOPERC!

Postby Juaort » Sun Mar 10, 2019 4:19 pm

Bongoceros, I couldn’t pass up on these when they went up for sale. These are made of Maple Wood. I hear nothing but good things about MOPERC. So far I’m loving them, but the skins have to go. Already ordered from Manito.

So the question is, what’s your experience with MOPERC Bongos? Love them or Hate them. Please share.

Juaort.

Hello.

I never approached Mopercs "in real life", but I only heard or read positive comments about them. Though a few sets recently appeared on a second hand website here in France, sold by professionnal players whom I know (need of room and/or money ?).

Should be a nice find, congratulations.

Congratulations, Moperc is one of the best sounding bongos out there and built to last an eternity. I own one (see picture) since 2006.

Your set looks sweet!!! What skins do you have on yours? I just replaced the ones in my set to Thin Horse on Macho and Medium thick Steer on the Hembra. I wasn’t in love with the stock heads. I ordered these from Manito last week. They’re drying today hopefully later or tomorrow I can toon them up, if the sun helps.

Juaort, the same setup as always, skindeep on the macho and thick natural skin on Hembra.

I have to give that set up a try. Here’s the finished work on my MOPERCS. Want to make sure their 100% dry before I tone them up.
