Teachers in Puerto Rico

Postby Toby Bender » Fri May 01, 2015 2:16 pm

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anybody on the forum had any advise or better yet, some experience studying in Puerto Rico?

In the next month I will be heading overseas from Australia to the US and have decided to go over two weeks earlier than necessary to spend some time in Puerto Rico. I was hoping to get in contact with a percussion teacher who can really push me.

I am a professional percussionist and I am at good, advanced level. I would very much like to study with someone who is really on the edge of contemporary percussion playing. I am currently trying to contact two people in particular but who knows if I will get a reply from the emails I've sent. Has anyone had an experience learning in PR and how did you find it? Do you feel like you learned things that really changed your playing or heightened you knowledge?

Please share you experiences.
