Roberto Vizcaino - former percussionist for G. Rubalcaba, Maracas and Chucho's Quartet may be able to help you, he's a great instructor and coupld place you with someone in Havana. He's currently in the US as avisiting Tinker Professor of Music at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. You can try to locate him at the following number: 608-262-0616 ... There are two related threads Looking for rumba lessons in cuba!!! and teachers in havana and I would like to point out to you that there are other cities in Cuba, too, that might be even better for music lessons as they are less touristic and you might be able to get closer with musicians there.

I can personally recommend Joaquin Solorzano in Santiago de Cuba. He has played with Cuarteto Patria in the nineties and now heads a folkloric conjunto as well as plays with Los Guanches and other groups. I studied bongo with him, and he is best known for his bongo work, but he is a master on congas and afro cuban percussion too.

You should be able to find him by asking at Casa del Caribe or Casa de la Trova.

He only speaks spanish, though.
