I am working my way through the wonderful Percusion Afro-Cubana, Vol. 1 Música Folklorica by adrian coburg. To aid my study I am looking for the above recording by the Conjunto de Percusion de Danza Nacional de Cuba. It is referenced as a guide recording for many of the rhythms in the book.
I am desperate to find it as I think it is will be very important for me as I study this book. I would welcome any format.
I am very grateful for any help you could give in this
Martin

				re: Jesus Perez : Homenaje
Hello Martin,
I got that as a vinyl recording when I was in Cuba in 1988.
It was a new release then. If you don't mind waiting,
I can send you a cassette recording.

I'm glad I found this because I ordered that very same book from Descarga.com about 2 weeks ago and I wasn't even aware of an audio reference. The book comes highly recommended though. The cover scan helps a lot, I will have that burned in my memory for when I go scanning through the gar(b)age sales, and thrift store vinyl collections. Of course, if there are any other recordings available here I would be glad to hear about them!

I was just wondering if there is anyone else here who has dealt with Descarga.com. I ordered my book back in January and the wroong one was sent so I returned it after contacting them. They have acknowledged receiving the return and now I've been waiting since February to hear back. There is now no reply when I e-mail to enquire about the shipment. At the time the original book was returned I also ordered part 2 and a couple of instructional DVDs so we are talking about a couple hundred bucks here! Has anyone else had this issue with them?

I've bought a couple of CD's from Descarga, a little slow but no problems.
I hope you get your book, tell us what you think when you get it...
