Hi,

i have the following question. I have a set of three congas (Quinto, Conga, Tumba) and i am not sure, if i have just problems to tune them or if the qualitiy is bad. I dont get rid of the overtones

I attach a audio with tones and open slaps from all three drums. Additionally (without audio) the conga and the quinto rings, when i hit them from the side (shell)

What do you think?

They don't sound too ringy to my ears, but I'm no expert.

Maybe a little more info?

What kind/brand are they? Especially what kind of skins [water buffalo?] ... if you search you'll find a lot [I mean a ton] about overtones and ringing on the forum ... everything from putting sponges and such on strings inside to tape on the skin underneath ... often the recommendation is good quality skin replacement.
