Gon Bops Restoration Advice

Postby willfry » Fri Nov 03, 2017 5:45 pm

Hi,

I have an old Gon Bops Quinto.

I've taken the head off and found a few cracks. The drum has been oval since I bought it.

Any advice on how I can fix it up?

I'm thinking I should put in a metal strengthening ring on the inside to try to prevent it from collapsing!

As far as the cracks go, it's probably not a good idea to take the rings off, right?

I'm based in London. If anyone can recommend someone who may be able to do this for me or give some advice then I'd be grateful. Thanks.

I suggest you to browse the forum with the keywords "conga repair" or "Gon Bops repair' for instance.

You'll see that a lot of forum members allready've been there...
