Can you identify these congas?

Postby Babaloo » Wed Sep 11, 2013 5:40 pm

There are no identifying marks on them anywhere. As I noted in an earlier post, I purchased these at the local Guitar Center for $100 for the pair. I apologize for the quality of the photos. If I'm not the world's worst photographer, I'm at least in the running. I have a couple more pictures that I'll post below. Five is the maximum in a single post.

"Playa Azul".
These were made in Mexico in the sixties up to the early eighties. They are well made drums, deffenetly nice sounding. You no doubt got a GREAT buy.
Cheers.

Thanks a million, King Conga. You're amazing. I don't have a clue what a conga should sound like at this point, but I'm pleased to learn that I got a bargain on a good pair of drums. These really aren't that beat up, but maybe I'll refinish them sometime down the road.
