Can someone help out identifying this CP Matador. Does anyone know how many different badges " CP " had on their matadors?
Anyone care to show or post pics of their cp matadors.
Thanks

Not sure if I can help identifying your conga, but I once had this 28" tall Matador CP fiberglass conga:

The badge looks different from yours, I believe my drum was from the late 1980s.
Your wooden Matador looks slightly younger in my opinion.
Anyway, those Matador/CP drums were by no means bad, on the contrary, especially
the older CP series was really nice.

Mikes Matador is from late 80's, when CP launched Matador as a step up from their existing line up, your Matador is early 90's new style badge, still being 'made' by CP, later badges have Matador by LP still with your style shape badge, now of course the current Matador range bares the new LP circular badge.

My matador is also 28 inches tall. I notice the matador you had did not have the lp style side plates side plates.
I thank everyone for their feedback, pics, and responses. It certainly has shed some light on the drum. 8)

I was going through old threads and landed up here.

I have a CP Matador bongó that has the same badging as the first conga. It is from 1989, according to the date on the shell. It also has the CP logo stamped on the hardware, instead of the "horns" logo.

Probably a bit too late for the purpose of this thread, but maybe it helps somebody in the future...
