How to make a dirty "barrel" rim

Back to basics !!

Here is a dirty rim you can make for congas shells, cool stuff : you don't need a lot of material, it's cool to do, it's F...ing solid. Looks ugly... but cool !!

A hammer, a tip, a anvil, some nails... some motivation and 2 beers....

Beat just one side to make it conical.

I have done that same technique before successfully on various drums in the past. I have a piece of " Train Track " about 18" long that I use as an anvil. The only thing I would reccomend is to do it before you join the ends together to let the conical proccess occur without any hinderences. I have used a small Ball Peen Hammer with very light touches to produce a ring without hardly noticing any defects to it.
