Patatos are nice drums. I bought a Patato quinto and conga
over 20 years ago used from a friend still have them and some
years ago I finally bought the tumba. Sweet sounding drums,
I kept the factory heads on them I tried synthetic heads but don't
like the way they sound with them. I would like to put my hands
on some of them older Patatos with the two tone color and
traditional crowns.

I believe the fiberglass LP Custom Shop drums are the same design as the Patatos. That is where you can get the two-tone colors, but they are pricey.

...or if you already have the drums you can take them to an auto body shop.

musiqman...Very nice setup. I know that LP has a new Badge for the Patatos now ( round ), but I am very partial to the older rectangular badges like yours. No big deal, just a preference that's all. Anyway, very nice set you have.

Those are sweet. Maybe we should start a Patato owners group.

Tomorrow is the day that I order my other two Patatos, quinto and conga. Very excited as I have been wearing my two tumbas out. These drums are awesome. I really like my Meinl Pros, but these Patatos are fan-f%$#ing-tastic. I think that if I had bought these first, I would be a lot farther along in my playing. These are just so inspiring. I just had to rant. Thanks, TT

Didn't get the other two Patatos ordered when I thought. I did order them yesterday. The other two "Red Widows", got a heckuva deal on them and they are being shipped out of Nashville, TN and should be here around Monday or Tuesday. I hate to rant about these Patatos, but they are so inspirational and I am so satisfied with them.

Received my other two Patatos today, conga and quinto. I am very impressed with the whole set, but the quinto is a small cannon. The slaps are really easy and LOUD. I am very glad that I decided to go for the four drums, not that I'm good enough to warrant four, but I have them to eventually grow into. Pictures coming soon.
