With these babies! Old PP for sure I'm thinking. Probably going to get a hoop and a plastic head.

PPs are what I'm thinkin' too. If and when I get to Houston, I expect to see and play those bad boys. They are gonna be a cool set so get 'em ready to rock-n-roll. Color is cool also.

I saw them when they first popped-up on ebay I knew they were older LP's. The paint scheme
(triangles) sort of tells me that one of the previous owner was probably into cuban rumba, I
have seen that sort of paint scheme on the drums of rumberos from Cuba before. If those drums
are in fact from the 60's or 70's they are no doubt collector items. They require a little bit of work
but they deserved to be restored. Good catch.

The handles on my Palisades Park LPs are not "form fitted" for one's fingers. I think those handles are used on newer LP drums.

My old fibergalss Palisades Park conga had the same handles, form fitted with a kind of diagonal cross hatch pattern on the outside. The second Palisades Park conga I had also had the fitted handle. I bought a newer fiberglass LP and it did not have the fitted handle.

It may be that your handles are retro fitted Craig, or that Palisades came with both handles.

From my first post and my first conga!

I was blessed to get my hands on an early 70's Palisades trio recently and they are in incredible condition. Had many sets of 2 during the years and made the mistake of letting them go. This is an original set of 3, very rare to find in this day and age and in such great condition.

Dario, you got "azuquita" for them drums they seem to land on your door steps. Esas
son todas para "Shango" plus there is a legendary Fania album cover with four of them
red 1970's LP congas and a hell of a percussionist standing behind them. I tell you lot
of forum members are loaded with toys..........

In the cover of "Barretto", Ray come out with 4 of the same color. These babies I scored are pristine. Not letting them go this time. "Azuquita Pal' Café".
