So Dario do you think those shells are Vergara?
I knew from your post in the past and other
sources that Vergara did not make the hardware.

Vergara never made a bongo' with a lump on the head (cocote) like that one has, Pan Con Queso and Osiris made the shells that way.

Thanks, Dario. I think one reason the crowns are all out of whack
is because they are way too small for that lump on the head of the
shells in my opinion.

Cuco hasn't changed a bit. I guess he's still trolling around here, has a lot to say when he's selling something for sure! Anyways vergara or not they're going to be a great sounding set of bongos if they are solid shell. I had a set of the smaller cuban biongos fromt eh solis shop that I got from Phil Kraus who got them from Jack Teagarden. They sounded nice but I didn't like the smaller sizes so I sold them. Great piece of cuban history though those old bongos, a lot of them still have the solis label on the inside.

I tell you what I would not buy anything from Cuco.Who
in their right mind wants to deal with a person like him,
his way or the highway. Most of them pictures he is showing
on facebook show the crown ears with rivets specially Sabu's
bongo picture. There is one lonesome conga with welded ears
and that could be due to the drum been retrofitted with hardware
in good ol' USA. A couple of weeks ago the bongo's maker was unknown
on his facebook page all of the sudden is now a Vergara because
Cuco say so, Si Pepe!.Fishy, Fishy, Fishy, no really smells rotten.

Dario I do not know what to say, Cuco is just so direspectful
with his comments toward you, Mongo (RIP) and some
of us here.I am not a professional player, big deal. Cuco
is a real piece of work that specializes in hate and discontent.

Ritmo, that bongo that he claimed was "unknow' up to a couple of weeks ago, all of the sudden is a Vergara. That's because he wanted to sell it to Michael as a Vergara and stiff him about $1,500. Very disrecpectful to Mongo, who recorded over 90 albums as a bandleader and was a Grammy winner. The guy has mental problems, he picked fights here with everyone who happened to challenge his opinions . I appreciate your comments.
