Mopercs

Postby pcastag » Wed Jan 23, 2013 2:15 am

Hadn't been doing any conga gigs for a while, but recently picked up a couple of brunches. Man these babies are heavy BUT, they sound so awesome, especially in a live setting, no problems getting heard , they cut right through the mix. Love me some moperc! On another note I've been playing 20 years down here in Houston, the gig scene is REALLY picking up, mostly small group stuff in restaurants, lots of young professionals moving here because the economy is so good. It's been nice having the additional income especailly since my kid is graduating nd going tff to school next year $$$$$$. Working seven days a week 70 hours will wear your ass out though! Enjoy!

Tres lindas mujeres!

Looks like you got "one of each"! Whats the story behind this mismatched set?

Found one here, found one there found another one over there! I bought two off of the moperc used drum site, and one from a guy in DC. These babies are expensive! The conga 11.75 is maple, the other two are ash. Shipping and customs from Canada is like 130 per drum, so if you can get the drum for 500 or 550 one costs about the same as an SOS or Ritmo. To be honest, I've owned both, I loved them, but nothing cuts like these babies while still having a nice warm fundamental. I love them.

Yeah, 600 a pop plus 400 shipping to the US. About 733 per drum. Nice drums though, the maple is a bit brighter than the ash drums, my quinto is maple and teh other two are ash.

You wanna buy my tumba? I'll sell it to you, it's already got the Remo head on it and it's the tropical series. Didn't I buy this drum from you?

Greetings people, it finally came, after over a three month wait; my MOPERC CUSTOM CUBANO is here! I have to shout out to CongaMyk and Jaisen Torres, because I got my ideas from them.

Ladies and Gents, his Majesty is loud and deep, and is made out of African Mahogany, redwood color with dark fade at the top and bottom. It towers over my LP Matadors and Classics, it chases away bad mojo from my home, and it demands attention when you walk in. It cost me my tax refund, but after seeing and playing his Majesty...it's worth every penny.

Is michel making drums out of african mahogany now? I know his original drums were honduran mahogany, how did you convince him to make that for you? One bad mofo!

I've been seeing some nice videos of Mopercs on the youtube that has piqued my interest in Mopercs. I wish that he would do some U.S. distribution. Isn't that what NAFTA is for  Then there's the fact that I am half Canadian (Mom was from Toronto) and I must admit that helped influence me to buy a Seagull acoustic guitar. Which is a very nice guitar that fits my playing style, and one big bang for the buck$

On the other hand I would guess that Moperc is having no problem selling all that they make as it is now.
