Bill Fitch, very rare footage

Postby Omelenko1 » Fri Sep 07, 2012 1:12 pm

Bill Fitch was an Afro American brother that played with Cal Tjader in the early 60's after Mongo left. His solo on a tune called "Insight", is one of the tastiest conga solos in history. He sounded like a cross between Mongo and Tata.

Enjoy!

Gerat! Thanks for sharing. We had it already here by the way: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=5690&p=60282&hilit=bill+fitch#p60282
Anyway Bill Fitch was one of the greatest congueros in my opinion.
My alltime favourite solo is his mind-blowing conga performance on Tjader´s "Insight".
And I am in good company here:

It is really a pity that Fitch´s path got lost and he passed on rather early.
Peace & drum
