I really like the look of those on the right in the first pic. Good stuff.

Look at Moperc's website. There is used conga/quinto pair available for a lot less than new price. I don't know how that pair fits into the various product lines. They seem to be a basic pair without bells and whistles. I'm waiting for a Salsa Club Series tumba to show up there used. I've been waiting a few years. A requinto showed up ... at a good price too ... somebody else bought it. I don't know if I have use for a top end requinto. There's just not enough real estate on the head.

Oh but hey ... look in that photo of Michel in his shop ... I see wood timbales and a talking drum shell. Looks like he's fiddling about with other drum types.

Thanks JC, yes they are very heavy compared to other congas I've owned/played.
No handles & each drum weighs between 7-8 LBs heavier than LP Classics.

A friend recently played the set I bought in Feb.
He said he's played every conga brand made in N. America and these drums were exactly what he was looking for.
He instantly made me an offer I couldn't refuse.

I spoke with Michel and he told me the current turnaround time was only one month.
So I ordered a custom made set.
