What do you think about that deal?

I don't know a lot about Timba congas but that deal seems a little too good to be true.
I'd be wary, especially about sending money and getting them to ship the drums to you.

I will actually see and try the drums next week.

I would like to buy the 5 Timba and the set of Aspire, Sell back what I do not need, including my current set and try to get the remaining set for free.

But I read the threads Abakua posted and I would love more input.

I read somehwere a couple of month ago that Timba went out of business. Is this true?

There were rumours of it closing up, but they (Timba Perc.) are in full operation.

For seven hundred euro I'd snap up the 5 timbas and give the aspires to a school !

I think I have found a buyer for the Aspire and also for my current set.

I just need to find someone interested in the extra conga and super tumba and I have my set for free...

I might just make the deal and see.

I'll let you know once I tried them.

I hear you Abakua.

I had some comments going your way and some from actual Timba drums users who are very satisfied.

I will be very cautious, and inspect them before taking a decision. These drums were purchased a few years back and were not played. They were stored for years and abandoned. I guess this will be a good test of durability of these drums.

It seems that Timba drums from before 2007 had manufacturing problems. After 2007 they seem to have improved the production quality. Some say they didn't dry the wood enough and/or used low grade glue etc...

My idea is to buy the whole set of 7 drums, sell most of them and keep a set of 3 for myself. If I have any doubt about the quality, I will sell all of them (including my old beat up current set) and purchase a brand new set. I assume that by selling a total of 10 drums, I should be able to buy 3.

The drums are already on Ebay. I am already looking for potential buyers. I'll see what happens.

The thing is that I have a hard time not jumping of this bargain! The drums are a few kilometers from where I live. I will physically see them and try them.

Anyways, I will keep you guys informed.

I am more thinking of keeping the quinto, conga and tumba, which is my current set up.
