Some close friends of mine were recently holidaying in Colombia, and I had asked them to get me an El Piernas campana/cencerro and bongo, however they went all over the place and the response was the same, El Piernas were only sold in Cali, and could not find anywhere else. Unfortunatly at the time their website was down also so I missed out.

Ive been thinking about going to Cali for some time now.

I purchased a pair y suenan bien. The only problem I had is that the shipping was more then the actual Bongo. I opened a FEDEX account and had them send it with my account, But I also orderd the bag and two different bells so I could have the whole set up. I would realy recommend making time to stop by if you go to Cali, Colombia so you can save the shipping cost.

THanks Greco, that day was special in other ways also, we have rehearsal at my home and my honey brought a birthday cake and some food , we really had a great time that eveing. Yes , I am a fan of El Piernas because both of the Bongos I have have a tremendous sound out of the box plus it is the old school we all look for. One thing I may add it is that I do not find a reason to buy 1 for $500 if I have the oportunity to get 1 of the same quality for half but that is my way of thinking. Any way if you have the oprtunity to visit colombia, take your time & try to get 1. Casa Musical alcibiades bedoya on line have them for only $150, the shipping is what make them expensive .

I've been in touch with Edilberto for a few weeks now. I am about to order a few bells and maracas. Have you ordered with him before? Is he legit? He sounds legit but I just wanted to make sure before I send any money etc.

I am trying to get the cash for a set of congas. They are incredible.
