I've got a pair of the wood-bodied LP "junior conga's", and the volume that they produce is nowhere near as loud as my LP Giovanni ash-wood bongo's. In fact, the junior congas are pretty darned quiet and unuseable to me in a live setting with a loud band. Anyone know why?
How could I get these things to sound loud like my bongo's? Put on a thinner skin? A thicker skin? Any ideas?
