CUBOPINCALI,
DON'T USE GREASE!
ALWAYS MAINTAIN YOUR DRUMS WITH A LIGHT COAT OF GENERAL PURPOSE OIL, AS REQUIRED. GREASE WILL GIVE YOU PROBLEMS, IT'S A HASSLE AND RETAINS GRIME SAND AND WHAT EVER ELSE.
HOPE THIS HELPS,
TAKE CARE,

I've been using LP "Lug Lube" for years, but it seems to be a bit of a pain to purchase.
I believe Volcano recommended NAPA silicone gel in the tube. But I can see silicone grease making a mess, possibly.
I also would like to know what is a great product to use that's also easy to acquire.

Four reason to use White Lithium Grease:
1. Keeps metal parts lubricated
2. Guards against dirt build-up
3. Reduces wear and rust
4. Clean and easy to use
LP Lug Lube <-- No need for this, 3-in-One and DW-40 do the same job...

I use engine syntethic Oil (Amsoil) If it is good for the engine,it should not have any problem with the lugs. Wd 40 (Water disperser 40) is a no go because attracts dirt like a magnet.

I use BALISTOL, it´s acid-free, does the job with practically everything from knife blades to rheumatic bones :;): ,
prevents corrosion at the tuning lugs as well and creeps in nicely.

A also say WD-40 is a no-go. Too light of an oil. And it's not that great of a lubricator in the first place (or a rust preventer, for that matter). I stopped using it on mechanic work years ago.

I have used Napa sil-glide and like it. You may have to wipe some off but it works great. Recommended to me by Thomas Alexander of Volcano Percussion

I use for my congas the grease we use for the grape picking machine in agriculture. But I think that a ot of greases do the job very well.

I just apply teflon tape that plumbers use on my threads. Not over the entire length - just where you know there will eventually be contact. Works great and low maintenance!
