I haven't heard anyone on this forum mention Fat Congas. I did a search on all the forums and didn't find any mention of them either. I've seen their website (http://www.fatcongas.com) and the drums look nice!
Looking nice and sounding nice are two different things. They're expensive too; almost $1K a pop. I noticed that they are redoing their design and the current design is not available right now so maybe that is a clue to their appeal, or lack there of.
Has anyone on the forum actually tried them or heard them? If so, what do you think?
Thanks for the opinions.

Alafia Abures Mcraghead y Skindeep!
Espero que todo este bien con ustedes!
As for Fat Congas, yeah! I must say that they are incredible, both in sound and beauty! Expensive however. I purchased my set of three back in the 90's at some point, and all together they cost me $2250, most money I've ever shelled out for a set, but very well worth it!
I have continued to write Rick Buscemi, however his significant other, Millie always responds that he is quite busy and won't be able to make my next drum (I had placed an order for a 14" SuperTumba). I continue to bug him though with hopes that he'll just make it for me just to shut me up! She did mention to me this last time I wrote them, Jan/06, that he is working on a new 'prototype' conga drum. She explained that they are kinda like a mom & pop set up there, they only have a limited number of staff persons to work on supply, kind of like JCR I would guess!
If you like the Fat Congas, you'll love the Volcano Percussion models that are available at volcanopercussion.com Their drums are extremely super cool mi hermano! and available a bit cheaper than Fat Congas!
Suerte!
Onile!
