Hey guys. Any experience with Cherry Wood Congas? Skin on Skin and Timba make them. Jay Bereck at Skin on Skin says they have same round full sound as his Oak but not quite as loud. Says wood is more stable in humidity.

Timba wants a $200 premium. Thoughts?

I have heard the Skin on Skin Cherry was not as loud also, ash is supposed to be good for projection and volume, but hey nothing wrong with oak.

Thanks Tonio.
Hey Johnny, what about you? What's your opinion? If you had a chance for cherry over oak, would you stay with Oak? Any significant difference? :)

I personally like the sound of oak ,I believe cherry wood is a warmer sound. Oak is crisp and a bit louder too. My Pearl Elite congas are Siam Oak and they sound great to me...My humble opinion.....JC JOHNNY CONGA...
